I am a single mom of two teenage daughters. We live in a small town in New Hampshire. Our family also consists of two black & white cats. I currently work outside of the home as an administrative assistant. My goal is to one day change that! For many years I’ve had thoughts of running my own business, but what product would I make or sell, how would I be able to afford start-up costs?

I started my own candle business a little over two years ago after searching for a way to make some additional income and to build for retirement. I wanted something fun and simple with flexible hours. I wanted to be home afternoons and evenings for my daughters as much as possible. I also thought we have a computer, internet connection, email at home....what could I do to make use of this? When I learned about becoming an independent distributor for gourmet scented candles, I could feel the excitement. Candles, I thought, I love candles! Now this is a product I can believe in. And there is the added benefit that the wax is natural. Think of all the people you know who burn candles. And candles are consumable - repeat business!

And here I am today loving every minute of it. My home always smells great! I love seeing the excitement and smiles on my customer’s faces when they smell and pick out one of our candles. I enjoy helping and getting to know my team members. It is fun to talk and correspond with others throughout the USA.
